Release Notes Winter 2021

A new release will be available on Wednesday 24th of February. This release will automatically be active for all users of Engage Process. The release includes many improvements that increase the ease of use. This release note lists the larger improvements and new functionality of the platform.

The complete list of changes is included below and you will find instructions on how to use them in the manual. As always, our support team is ready to answer any questions you may have.

General

  1. Users of the Modeler can now add multiple own-design versions of the sub process icon.
  2. In the reports you can now add Step type and Nett input/output as columns in the reports.
  3. New icons have been added to the standard icon library for the ‘3-lines-of-defense’ methodology.
  4. Users of the Single-Sign-On functions can specify whether or not to use AD-Group-mapping for each independent license (Modeler, Viewer, Teamboard).
  5. The Viewer App is made available as an official Microsoft Teams App. The actual release date depends on the final approval by Microsoft.

Modeler

  1. Project settings in the Modeler have been made easier. Various settings are now automatically adopted for new processes, such as the step-numbering you have chosen.
  2. When previewing processes, you can now open and close sub-processes.
  3. The compatibility with Enterprise Architect has improved in the BPMN import and export functions.
  4. In Design mode, we have added connection points to process steps, giving you more options to avoid lines going through text fields.
  5. When offering diagrams for publication, older versions of the process can be replaced/archived automatically.
  6. You can now use the central roles table to assign the Owner and the Manager of a process.
  7. For assigning RASCI, The field “responsible” is pre-filled automatically with the role assigned in the task.
  8. When converting Brainstorms to processes, you will be notified which ideas are already used.

Viewer/ Viewer App

  1. Annotations are now included in the Properties screen as well.
  2. The Viewer App can now be used within an IFRAME.
  3. When selecting Feedback in the ViewerApp, the linked process step will be selected automatically.
  4. From your Viewer App you can now directly open a diagram in Modeler or Publisher.
  5. When creating reports, you can select processes for inclusion in the report.

Teamboard

  1. Where Teamboard offers various views for each board (table, Kanban etc.) you can now customize these views and define them to be your standard view for a board. To do this, you have to copy/paste the standard view that is offered.
  2. In the new Kanban view you can now collapse or open columns.
  3. The width of text fields in forms (opened issues and tasks) can be adjusted.
  4. The type selected for Issues can be adjusted afterwards, for example, changing a Bug into a Wish.
  5. In the Task view, all tasks can be opened or closed in one move.
  6. In the Table view, several changes have been made:
    • the sequence of columns can be re-arranged via drag & drop.
    • You can add work-item-type as a column.
    • The number of items is shown on top of the screen.
    • Tasks can be moved via drap & drop to other Issues.
    • The performance of the Table view has been improved.
  7. Issues can not only be linked to published processes but also to shared processes.
  8. Existing templates have been adjusted to support the new Kanban view.
  9. Any filters that you have applied will be saved when you refresh the browser.
  10. “last edit date” and “removal date” are now both shown.
  11. A notification has been added to inform you when the maximum number of Issues is reached in a specific view.

Publisher

  1. Links to processes and diagrams are included during the export / import of a diagram.
  2. The Sign Off function can be hidden for selected Viewer users.
  3. Copy/Paste functionality for the folder and project structure have been extended. You can now copy and paste these structures from the Modeler to the Publisher and within the Publisher.
  4. Pictures that are no longer used in overviews can now be removed.

Admin Center

  1. You can indicate whether a Role table can be used to assign the Owner and the Manager of processes in the Modeler.
